Terms of Service
- I require full payment at time of trim. I prefer Zelle or cash, but will take Venmo from time to time.
- I require 24 hr notice of a cancellation or rescheduling. Any later results in a small fee.
- I only require you to be present at the time of the appointment for the evaluation & first trim. For following appointments, you do not have to be there.
- *I typically require a handler for horses, whether it’s you or my assistant. For horses that stand near perfectly and who I have trimmed a few times, I will work without a handler in cross ties or in their stalls (at least 24x24) on a case by case basis.
- My handling is gentle, but not permissive. I will not use excessive force (jabbing with tools, yelling, hitting the horse, etc.) when handling horses and I ask you not to while I work with them. If your horse could benefit from extra training to stand, with prior consent, I do offer clicker training (R+) to encourage them for cooperative care during my visit. This has been the most successful & safe method that I have used for many horses.
- A clean, decently lit, shaded (especially during summer), and reasonably flat area to trim.
- A commitment to a 4-6 week schedule, 5 weeks max for the first 2 trims. In order to prioritize the health of the hoof, I do not often make exceptions. Horses with conformational quirks such as hi/lo, who are prone to cracks, BF transitions, and rehab are likely to need 4 weeks whereas horses with balanced conformation, naturally balanced hooves, and who wear their feet evenly can go 6 weeks. The most common and successful schedule is 5 weeks.
- For equines that have difficulty standing or lose patience quickly, splitting the trim into 2 separate trims (paid full price for both) may be appropriate. Being honest in your evaluation form can help us develop a plan before this.
- I will not continue a trim on an equine that is exhibiting dangerous behaviors such as biting, kicking, stomping, or bolting. In this case I recommend a vet examination checking for pain. I no pain is found, I recommend an at-home training regime for you and your equine.
If you have any questions about any of these terms, feel free to contact me and I will be happy to answer & discuss!

I take a small clientele, and I mostly serve clients within 15 miles of Burbank. Outside of this range, I take clients on a case by case basis and prioritize referrals (vets, bodyworkers, HCPs, other clients) + an applied travel fee that can be split with barn mates. Horses trained with R+ are always welcome.
